Donna D. Spencer,

Donna D. Spencer, BS MA LPA is a behavioral interventionist and special educator/trainer with extensive experience and a wealth of success in education of special needs children, caregivers, and the elderly. She has helped families and their care providers and teachers address the behavioral concerns of autism, dementia, and physically challenged clients. Her ability to see the not-so-obvious and overlooked underlying causes of problematic conduct have make her an invaluable resource for almost 30 years.
Donna feels assisting the elderly and their care staff is her true calling. Her interactive and grass roots experience varies from orthopedic and oncologic hospital wards to public school settings for the most behaviorally and emotionally challenged. She has also learned much from assisting clients in private settings such as the Autistic Treatment Center and Lufkin State School. She has a propensity to adapt the environment to assimilate the client’s needs and to shape behaviors to complement that environment. Her behavioral plans have been used throughout the state. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and guidance and education from UTEP and her Master of Arts degree from Trinity University in San Antonio. She is licensed with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists and has been certified as a bereavement facilitator. She has attended PRIDE training for foster/adopt parents through the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. In addition, she has volunteered for over two decades with the American Red Cross in hospital settings and with Hope Hospice in New Braunfels, Texas.
Her awards and recognition include the Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching for AHISD and the Virginia Sowell Vision Specialists Award. She continues to keep abreast of current practices through continuing education, seminars, volunteer work, study, and listening to those providing the calling of caregiving.
